Maplewood RS Newsletter

Spring is in the air along with spring allergies, spring breaks and fantastic weather!! This week we were able to study the words of Isaiah along with Nephi. After spending a couple of chapters retelling Isaiah’s words about that were very much about Christ Nephi tells us “And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.” (2 Nephi 26:26) I’ve been thinking of this scripture a lot this week and evaluating how I do in talking, rejoicing, preaching, prophesying, and writing about Christ. Here’s a few ideas I came up with on how we can do more of these things throughout the week and not just on Sundays. We can talk to our friends on how we’ve seen Christ in our lives that day or week. We can rejoice by playing and singing songs about Christ in our cars. We can post on instagram or facebook our favorite scriptures about Christ and tell why they are our favorite. We can bear a simple testimony to friends or even our children of why we love Christ, and we can write down in our journals how we saw Christ in our week. Such simple things that will help us be better disciples of Christ! How amazing would the world be if everyone had more Christ in their lives? How amazing would our days be if could simply put him in them?

TEMPLE DAYS

Starting this year we will have two temple days a month! The days and times will change just so we can accommodate everyone’s schedules We hope each of you will be able to join us on one of those days. If it’s a sealing or initiatory day then we ask you to reserve that time for yourself. If you don’t know how to reserve a time then please call Sis. Cash at 505-803-0820 and she will walk you through how to do it. If it’s an endowment day then you can just go without reserving because they rarely fill up. We hope to see you there!!
