Where did August go??

Maplewood RS Newsletter

Can you believe we are about to close out August and bring on September?? Ready or not here comes the Holiday season...How time flies!  A big thank you to all who attended their ministering interviews last Sunday.  It was great to see everyone mingling, laughing, and enjoying  a treat while waiting for their turns!  We will be doing more interviews tomorrow, Sunday August 28th from 12:30-2  and hope to see the rest of you there!  Truly, loving and caring for our fellow sisters is the Lord's work and we are so grateful for each of you for becoming friends with and loving the sisters that you minister to.    Sister Jean B. Bingham said "What does ministering look like...It looks like becoming part of someone's life and caring about him or her!"

MINISTERING/TEMPLE/FAMILY HISTORY/MISSIONARY THOUGHT

The last few weeks we have been able to study the book of Psalms.  While studying I couldn't help but think that we have Psalms here in our day...  Uplifting music that artists have poured out their testimonies in that touch our souls.  This particular song has been running through my head all week and I wanted to share it with you guys.  "Serve the Lord"  by Nik Day .

1.It’s written in the stars;

I signed my name.

I’m carrying this torch

To my grave.

It’s burned into the fabric of my soul.

Though I know it’s not an easy road,

The One who made the world has made me free.

And I already know my destiny,

With every beat that’s left inside my heart.

I will serve the Lord,

Even if I stand alone.

I’ve decided long ago.

Though the ground may shake me,

I won’t let it change me.

I will serve the Lord

Even if the waters rise.

Even through the endless night,

My faith is firmly set in stone.

And I will serve the Lord.

2.Those who hear my voice

Do what you will.

But I’ll never leave the peace

That I feel.

It takes me to a higher holier place,

And despite the struggles that I face,

He gives me all the grace that I could need.

And I already know my destiny,

With all the strength that’s left inside my soul.

I will serve the Lord,

Even if I stand alone.

I’ve decided long ago.

Though the ground may shake me,

I won’t let it change me.

I will serve the Lord

Even if the waters rise.

Even through the endless night,

My faith is firmly set in stone.

And I will serve the Lord

I will serve the Lord,

Even if I stand alone.

I’ve decided long ago.

Though the ground may shake me,

I won’t let it change me.

I will serve the Lord

Even if the waters rise.

Even through the endless night,

My faith is firmly set in stone.

And I will serve the Lord.

I will serve the Lord.
